• INFO-INTEGRATION

We support people on their journey.

  • OUR VISION

    Embracing diversity – promoting participation

Our society will be much richer if everyone can actively participate in it.

We are committed to helping newcomers get settled, raising awareness among institutions about integration-related issues, and promoting understanding of diversity and social interaction throughout society.

Our work is about openness, the recognition of human diversity, and the courage to explore new perspectives.

    OUR GOALS

For people with a migration background: We provide a contact point where newcomers can access the information and support, they need to shape their new start independently and find their feet in East Belgium.

For institutions and social actors: We collaborate with organizations to develop integration-friendly structures and remove barriers to equal participation.

For the wider community: We encourage interaction, reflection, and openness to promote coexistence based on respect, exchange, and mutual learning.

    OUR HISTORY

In 2002, the Belgian Red Cross opened the Asylum Office (Asylbüro) in the German-speaking Community of Belgium — the first contact point for people with a migrant background. It provided support to those seeking advice on residence permits, looking for accommodation, looking for a job, or having questions about the school system and healthcare.

In 2009, the Asylum Office evolved into InfoAsyl. Alongside its counselling services, it became a reference centre for organisations and social partners and expanded its work to include social interaction and education. In cooperation with partners, many projects were developed, such as the women's café (Frauenerzählcafé), language courses for women and creative workshops. A partnership was also established with the Front desk service of the municipality of Eupen and the social-psychological centers.

In 2012, Infoasyl was assigned to the ADA (Accueil des Demandeurs d’Asile) department of the French-speaking Belgian Red Cross.

    OUR DEVELOPPMENT

In 2015, it was further developed into Info-Integration. With expanded responsibilities, the focus now shifted to sustainable integration, education, networking, and social participation.

Since 2018, Info-Integration has been the official reference centre for migration and integration in the German-speaking community of Belgium, based on the decree of December 11, 2017, on integration and coexistence in diversity.

In February 2021, the first social translation service in the German-speaking community, Traduko, was launched.

Since January 2025, Info-Integration has been affiliated with the ADA department's “Hello Belgium” service.

    Funding

Info-Integration is funded by the German-speaking Community of Belgium.
